僕の作品制作において、先住民や先祖が非常に重要な要素であります。
世界の先住民の色や装飾、その意味合い、そして歴史などについてを調べていく中、実際に彼らの文化を経験したい！そう思い、去年はメキシコへ三月のアーティストインレジデンスを実施しました。
In my art production, indigenous people and ancestor are taking important elements. Through the research of the perception of colors and decoration, and its root of the people, my curiosity became really stronger. Therefor I have been to Mexico for 3months, 1 month of traveling to more than 50 spots, 1month of art production and exhibition afterword.
the experience was amazing!

そして今年はなんと、僕の住んでいるドイツ・ベルリンから約8300km離れたナミビアに住む３部族 ヘレロ族、ヒンバ族、デンバ族に会ってきます！
アフリカ南部は人類発祥の地とも言われ、彼らは僕ら人類が20万年前に猿と別れ、人間として進化した土地に住む民族であります。
彼らの民俗性、歴史、文化、色に対しての認識をたどることができると、私たち人類のもっとも古い、かつオリジナルの特性を発見することができると思ったのがこのプロジェクトの始まりです。
And this year, I decided to go to Namibia to meet 3 amazing tribe groups, Himba, Herero, Demba tribes.
Since our DNA has been separated from monkey about 200,000years ago, southern africa is the oldest place of the human. Knowing the people and the culture of them in there, I can literary reach to our original perception of color and culture in very early time.
また歴史的にも近代において彼らはドイツに植民地された過去も持ち、ドイツ語を喋る人も多く生活しています。
そしてもっとも興味深いことは、このヘレロ族とヒンバ族はもともとは同じ生活様式、同じ言語を喋るほど、近しい部族でしたが、ヘレロ族は植民地支配のときにヨーロピアンの影響を受けたころから、非常にカラフルなドレスを普段から着るようになりました。
In the history, they have got colonized by Germany from Europe, they have taken very unique way in the european influence.
Especially Hereros have had big changing on their costume, they wear big victorian style colorful dress. In spite of this change, Himbas still wear almost nothing, just putting red soil on their body and don't take shower whole life!
こんな素敵な装いの彼らを是非密着取材したいと思い、現地のコーディネータに御願いをし、彼らのお家に泊めてもらうことになりました！
ナミビアの首都ウィンドフックから自動車で北上し、彼らの住むエリアへむかうロードトリップを含めたこの調査旅行には今からすでに興奮状態です！
訪問時期は７月下旬から8月初旬の12日間、このブログを読んでもらっている頃にはすでに僕はナミビアの荒野で車を走らせていることでしょう！
I really love to meet this amazing people with super interesting culture in Namibia, I have contacted an organization who is coordinating my journey.
The idea is taking road trip to the community area in the north of Namibia, and taking photo of them, even I'm going to stay at their house.
When you are reading this article, perhaps I will be already in the middle of the road trip in the field.
